Under North Carolina General Statute § 163-278.13, an individual may contribute up to $6,400 per election to a political campaign. For couples, this allows a combined contribution of $12,800; however, each donation must be made separately to comply with legal requirements. Campaign committees are prohibited from accepting cash contributions exceeding $50, ensuring all funds are traceable and transparent. All contributions are reported to the North Carolina State Board of Elections in accordance with campaign finance laws, promoting accountability and integrity in the electoral process.
