Early Voting: What to Know

Early Voting for the Greensboro
Primary Begins September 18th.

This fall, Greensboro is at a turning point. With four City Council seats open—the most in recent memory—we have a rare chance to reset our city’s priorities and direction for years to come.

Who Can Vote:

Every registered voter in Greensboro is eligible to cast a ballot, regardless of party affiliation. Same-day registration is available during early voting, provided eligibility requirements are met. Who Can Register.  Eligible voters must:

  • Live in Greensboro for at least 30 days before Election Day
  • Be registered to vote in Greensboro
  • Note: North Carolina residents living outside a municipality (like unincorporated areas) cannot vote in municipal elections.


What’s Happening:

A historic municipal election for our city. There are FIVE open City Council seats. Low turnout (only 16% of voters) in the last municipal polls means your vote has more power than ever before.


When and Where to Vote:

The in-person, early voting period for the October 2025 Municipal Primary Elections is Thursday, Sept. 18, starting at 8 a.m. until Saturday, Oct. 4, at 3 p.m. Only registered voters who live within the municipality of Greensboro are eligible to vote in the Municipal Primary Election. Greensboro precincts will also be open on Election Day, Tuesday, Oct. 7, from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.

301 W. Market St., Greensboro, NC 27401

Bur-Mil Park Clubhouse
5834 Bur-Mil Club Rd, Greensboro, NC 27410

Greensboro Complex – Special Event Center
1921 W. Gate City Blvd., Greensboro, NC 27403
