I am at a pivotal moment after more than 45 successful years in business. For decades, I’ve dedicated myself to growing companies, creating jobs, and supporting our community through volunteer work and advocacy. Now, I have the time and the experience to serve Greensboro in a new way—by running for City Council.
This decision is not one I’ve made lightly. It comes from a deep love for Greensboro, a city that has given me so much throughout my life. From building a career to raising a family, Greensboro has been the foundation of my success and happiness. But today, as I look around our community, I see challenges that demand bold leadership and action.
My journey in business has taught me the value of hard work, resilience, and innovation. Over the years, I’ve grown companies, navigated economic ups and downs, and created opportunities for talented individuals. These experiences have given me a deep understanding of what it takes to foster economic growth and make a community thrive.
Beyond business, my involvement in preserving Friendly Avenue and working on various volunteer projects through my church has allowed me to connect with the heart of Greensboro—its people. From listening to neighbors’ concerns to collaborating on initiatives that improve our community, these experiences have shaped my belief that leadership is about service, not self-interest.
Greensboro is a city full of potential, but we need leadership that can turn that potential into progress. My dream for Greensboro is simple yet ambitious:
A Safe Community: Every family deserves to feel safe in their homes, neighborhoods, and schools. We must work closely with our police force, provide them with the necessary resources, and take strong action to reduce crime. Safety is the foundation of a thriving city.
A Growing Economy: Greensboro once attracted businesses and jobs, which made us a beacon of opportunity. It’s time to bring that back. By supporting local entrepreneurs, attracting technology and innovation-driven industries, and cutting unnecessary red tape, we can make Greensboro a magnet for economic growth.
A Place for All Ages: Whether you’re a young professional starting a career, a family raising children, or a couple planning retirement, Greensboro should be the city of choice. From affordable housing to career opportunities and vibrant cultural offerings, we must build a city that works for everyone.
As your City Council representative, my priority will be listening—listening to your concerns, challenges, and dreams for our community. I know firsthand how frustrating it can be when leaders seem disconnected from the realities of the people they serve. That’s why I pledge to be an advocate for you.
